Maslow, notwithstanding, countered by contending that sex is required for the endurance of the species. Beside the propagation of our species, a few explores have discovered that the significance of sex rises above this reason. The ongoing idea among these explores is the self-completion acknowledged through sexual cooperation and fulfillment. In the distributed investigation of Susan Sprecher of the Illinois State University including pre-marriage couples, sex and the fulfillment picked up from the demonstration was a significant determinant of relationship fulfillment, level of friendship and level of responsibility. As individuals submit sex and addition fulfillment, the nature of the relationship turns out to be all the more suffering prompting more elevated levels of virtues. In an examination including old Chinese individuals, Kwong and Kwan (2006) found that a more elevated level of dynamic self-control, general prosperity and fulfillment when sex is polished. Sex was seen as instrumental to day by day living and would make up for the discouraging impacts of insufficient wages and physical shortcoming. Weed Need To Save Lives Professor Ramos Blog
Weed Need To Save Lives Leeana Demchesen English 010 7 November 2018 à Weed Need To Save Lives Experiencing childhood in my family, any utilization of weed was looked downward on, and for a long time, I had clutched this conviction. I accepted that it had no medical advantages and was utilized carefully as a medication at parties or to wander away from an away from of psyche. Presently, I do accept that this medication can be utilized for an inappropriate reasons. à However, over the previous year, I have started to build up my own considerations on maryjane. Cannabis ought to be taken off Schedule 1, and it ought to supplant different hazardous medications utilized in emergency clinics. The main article I read was composed by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a neurosurgeon, and numerous Emmy grant winning character. Gupta is additionally CNNââ¬â¢s Chief Medical Correspondent. The article was distributed on CNNââ¬â¢s site during the time of 2011. The article title is ââ¬Å"Why I Changed My Mind On Weed.â⬠The article spoke to a move in approach by a main specialist, Dr. Gupta, on Marijuana. In 2009, he had composed an article titled, ââ¬Å"Why I Would Vote No On Pot.â⬠However, in this ebb and flow article ââ¬Å"Why I Changed My Mind On Weed,â⬠Gupta proceeds to apologize for his absence of research. The Drug Enforcement Agency recorded pot as a Schedule 1 substance. A timetable 1 substance is characterized as ââ¬Å"substances, or synthetic concoctions characterized as medications with no at present acknowledged clinical use and a high potential for abuseâ⬠(dea.gov). In any case, Gupta says that they didn't have the science to help their case, and tha t maryjane can be utilized for restorative purposes and isn't oppressive. He proceeds to clarify how weed can be the main arrangement now and again. ââ¬Å"Take the instance of Charlotte Figi, who I met in Colorado. She began having seizures not long after birth. By age 3, she was having 300 per week, regardless of being on seven unique prescriptions. Clinical maryjane has quieted her cerebrum, constraining her seizures to 2 or 3 for every monthâ⬠(Gupta). Gupta has seen numerous clinical circumstances like Charlotteââ¬â¢s and depicts it as being ââ¬Å"irresponsibleâ⬠not to give the most ideal clinical consideration, care that may incorporate weed. He proceeds to state how we have been misdirected by the United States for à 70 years and apologizes for his job in that. In 1970, the Assistant Secretary of Health, Dr. Roger O. Egeberg suggested that pot be named a Schedule 1 substance. Right up 'til the present time, maryjane is as yet a Schedule 1 medication. à In continuation of Dr. Guptaââ¬â¢s article, The New York Academy of Science explored maryjane and got the accompanying outcomes. They found that pot didn't prompt noteworthy enslavement. Additionally, they didn't discover any proof of cannabis prompting some other addictions, for example, cocaine, heroin, or morphine. Dr. Gupta proceeds to show a few insights of the reliance of medications. He expressed that reliance among grown-ups ranges from 9 to 10%. Cocaine, a timetable 2 substance, which means it has less maltreatment potential has a rate expressing that 25% of clients become dependent. He proceeds to specify how nicotine is addictive just as the withdrawal manifestations of liquor. Despite the fact that Gupta is totally supportive of the utilization of clinical weed, he makes reference to his anxiety about small children smoking. He expresses that youthful creating minds are more effortlessly hurt than created grown-up cerebrums. Late examinations recommended that ordin ary utilization of maryjane can cause a lasting lessening in IQ in high school years. Gupta proceeded to compute the U.S. maryjane examines. His outcomes reasoned that 6% of examinations done are to explore the advantages of weed, while the rest researches the potential mischief. à â The second article I read was composed by Isabelle Z. what's more, distributed on Natural Newsââ¬â¢ site in the year 2016. The article title is ââ¬Å"Study Proves Medical Marijuana Can Replace Dangerous Pharmaceuticals.â⬠Isabelle begins by saying that individuals against clinical pot guarantee that if weed is sanctioned, it would prompt medication manhandle and negatively affect society. In any case, clinical maryjane has been so compelling in the clinical field, that itââ¬â¢s keeping its patients off of increasingly destructive and addictive painkillers. 2013 was the year that 17 states set up clinical pot laws, which was additionally the year that Medicare announced investment funds of 165.2 million on prescriptions utilized for conditions that can be treated by weed. Isabella expressed that in states with legitimate clinical weed, remedies were brought down for painkillers by 1,826 less every day portions contrasted with the states without any laws set up. Thes e outcomes show that individuals are utilizing cannabis for restorative purposes, not only for recreational purposes. Narcotics incorporate risky sorts of painkillers, and weed is ending up being a more secure other option. In Isabelles article, she referenced an investigation where patients with interminable agony utilizing clinical maryjane for treatment announced a drop in their utilization of narcotics of 64%. Forty individuals pass on every day by overdose on these kinds of medications. Anything that steers individuals from hazardous meds and painkillers is a decent advance, regardless of oneââ¬â¢s sentiments towards weed. à â In the current year of 2018, weed authorization has become increasingly normal. Recreational maryjane is legitimate in 9 states, and clinical cannabis is lawful in 30 states. Be that as it may, Marijuana is as yet recorded as a Schedule 1 Substance. Gupta can't help contradicting this grouping, thus do I. I accept that it ought to be removed from Schedule 1. There has been a lot of sound research done here and abroad. Any place it has been sanctioned has created undeniably more positive outcomes than negative outcomes. Above all, it has diminished the requirement for hurtful, addictive, and perilous painkillers. Narcotics are a class of medications that contain the accompanying: heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, and numerous others. These medications can be amazingly addictive, and many overdoses occur. Narcotics are intended to control the agony and cause you to feel drowsy with little dosages. Be that as it may, higher portions will slow breathing and pulse, causing potential demise. The sentiment of narcotics may make joy a few, which with everything taken into account prompts habit. Weed can possibly supplant these destructive medications utilized in the emergency clinic. à To summarize it, I accept that the United States is going the correct way with its decisions to legitimize maryjane. To what extent will it take the rest of the states to understand the advantages of weed and all the hazardous narcotics it can supplant? What more proof and research do they need? We have to make a move and spare hazardous addictions, and all the more critically, people groups lives. Medication Scheduling. Dea.Gov, 2018, https://www.dea.gov/sedate booking. Gupta, Sanjay. National One Cent Day The Long History (and Murky Future) of the U.S. Penny - OppLoans
National One Cent Day The Long History (and Murky Future) of the U.S. Penny - OppLoans National One Cent Day: The Long History (and Murky Future) of the U.S. Penny National One Cent Day: The Long History (and Murky Future) of the U.S. PennyPennies pre-date the U.S., dating as far back as Anglo-Saxon Britain, but its looking increasingly unlikely that theyll be around for much longer.Did you know that today is National One Cent Day? Itâs true! And yes, we know today is also April Fools Day, but we swear were not making this up! Why would we?! As an April Fools joke, making up a fake national holiday for the U.S. penny would be unspeakably lame!In fact, rather than come up with some sort of prank post, we decided to play things straight and use this opportunity to share a little bit of the history behind the U.S. penny. Are you wondering why this holiday is called âOne Cent Day instead of âPenny Day? That seems a little weird, right? Well, read on to find out why! Pennies pre-date the U.S.Coins have been around for a long time. Like, a long time: Almost 3,000 years. And while pennies donât go back quite that long, they have been around fo r a lot longer than the U.S. In fact, the English word âpennyââ"as well as other derivations like âpfennigâ in German or âpenningâ in Swedishâ"used to simply denote any kind of coin, not a specific type. But in 790 A.D., the Anglo-Saxon King Offa introduced the first official English penny. While we associate modern penniesâ distinctive reddish look with the copper used to mint them, Offaâs pennies were made entirely of silver. As the English currency system evolved throughout the centuries, pennies remained near the bottom, above only half-cent pieces, also known as âhaâ penniesâ. In the English system, 12 pennies made up a shilling, with 20 shillings in a pound. It wasnât until 1971 that the English switched over to a âdecimalâ system, with 100 pennies in a poundâ"ditching shillings altogether. The English penny proved to be a very popular coin. Thatâs why itâs still around today! Even once the United States had won their war of independence from Gr eat Britain in 1781, they couldnât bear to part with their beloved pennies. One cent, indivisible.Well, sort of. Hereâs the thing: American pennies arenât actually called pennies. Or rather, theyâre not âofficiallyâ called. Officially, they are one-cent coins. But try arguing that the next time youâre having a night out with your friends. U.S. one-cent coins are definitely pennies. The first American penny was minted in 1787, six years after the end of the American Revolution. These pennies were known as Fugio Coppers, and they were 100 percent copperâ"some of which was contributed by Paul Revere. himself. Even though Fugio Coppers were issued by the U.S. government, they were struck by a private mint.Fugio Coppers are often credited to Ben Franklinâ"which seems pretty par for the course during that period of American historyand they were sometimes referred to as the âFranklin Cent.â Franklin is also credited with the famous phrase, âa penny saved is a penny earn ed.âIn 1793, the U.S. Mint struck its first one-cent coins, issuing 11,000 of them on March 1st of that year. Like their Franklinite predecessors, these coins were also 100 percent copper. They were also hugeâ"approximately the size of a modern half-dollar.As time has progressed, the ratio of copper to other metals present in pennies has declined. Since 1982, U.S. pennies are only 2.5 copper. (Weirdly enough, dimes, nickels, and quarters are almost entirely copper.) In 1815, no pennies were minted at all due to a copper shortage produced by the War of 1812.Other pennies were minted by the U.S. over the ensuing decades, including the âIndianâ cent, minted in 1959, which was primarily used to pay Union Soldiers during the Civil War. Oh, and speaking of the Civil War Enter the Lincoln penny. In 1909, President Theodore Roosevelt wanted to do something special to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincolnâs birthday. So he introduced the Lincoln penny featuring the pre sidentâs likeness. The Lincoln cent was actually the first U.S. coin to feature the likeness of a real person. All previous coins had featured portrayals of the mythical figure âLibertyâ or other such idealized portraits. Lincolnâs visage was captured by sculptor Victor David Brenner. While there was a strong public sentiment against using portraits of real people on American coinage, the Lincoln penny was a massive success. (People really love Abraham Lincoln.) The coin was so popular, in fact, that it has simply become the U.S. one-cent piece.Lincoln Pennies were originally 95 percent copper. During World War II, these pennies had to be made using materials other than copper, as those metals were needed for the war effort. The resulting war-time pennies were made of steel, coated in a thin layer of zinc. They bore a striking resemblance to dimes and had a tendency to rust and deteriorate over time. As a result, they were not popular. Are pennies going extinct? In 1980, U.S. mil itary bases stopped using pennies altogether. The cost of keeping the coins in circulation overseas was simply too great. All on-base transactions were simply rounded up or down to the nearest five-cent increment. This brings us to a factoid that youâve probably heard before but that bears repeating: The U.S. one-cent piece costs more to produce than itâs actually worth. Thatâs right! A one-cent penny costs 1.8 cents to make. And whatâs more, the low-value for these coins means that people donât really use them. So the U.S. Mint has to keep producing more and more of them to keep the penny in circulation. By some estimates, the countryâs penny-related losses will top one billion dollars over the next decade. So should we just call the penny kaput? Many folks think so. In 2017, Arizona Senator John McCain even introduced the COINS Act, which would have eliminated one-cent coins altogether. Pennies may pre-date American, but its looking increasingly unlikely that theyll outla st it.If you enjoyed this post, check out these other articles from OppLoans:The Secret Financial History of VotingHow Have Movie Starsâ Salaries Changed Over Time?Love and Money: A Brief History of DowriesIs There a Secret Money Lesson Hidden In âThe Wizard of Oz?âDo you have a personal finance question youd like us to answer? A Great Composer Essay - 1198 Words
Inspiration may be a form of super-consciousness, or perhaps of subconsciousnessÃâ"I wouldnt know. But I am sure it is the antithesis of self-consciousness. Only one man could claim the title as probably the greatest composer in American history for writing so many unforgettable works: Aaron Copland. He lived a life inspired by many things as well as inspiring people all across the nation, and it really led to the opposite of being drawn into himself, as he described in the quote above. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 14 in 1900. He was the youngest of five children to Sarah and Harris Copland. A musical spark came out in Copland already at the age of 11 as he began piano lessons with his sister. His musical talentsâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦His first major work upon returning to America was Symphony for Organ and Orchestra which he wrote just for the few performances of Nadia Boulanger; the first one in Carnegie Hall in 1925 and another in Boston. As the twenties roared on, Copland began to show how his musical career would truly follow the ever-changing style of America. During the 1920s, Aaron Copland went with the trend and experimented with jazz styles in his music, which proved to be extraordinary in the views of many. His choice for other pieces came through modern music about which he once said, I just happened upon it in the natural course of my musical exploration. This was apparent in the way he would use ideals of Neoclassicism in his Piano Variations. Copland then hit a downfall in about 1936. He wrote a few works which were harder to perform and not taken in by many audiences due to the use of much more advanced techniques which were uncommon for the time. Copland knew a change had to be made because he quickly saw how many composers were working themselves into a vacuum, so he would follow a new path of the more simplistic American way for much of his life. This simple to understand type of writing is what brought audiences back and made Aaron Copland great. Coaching Program Sports An Acl Injury - 2212 Words
Coaching Program: In sport an ACL injury is the most frequently ruptured ligament of the knee (Johnson, 1983), it is described by Flynn 2005 as a serious, common and costly injury (Flynn, 2005). In many cases an ACL injury is the result of noncontact and studies done by Barrett et al 1972 and Beckett et al 1992 support this as they reported that 78% and 71% of ACL injured patients described noncontact mechanisms of injury such as landing with too much knee extension or change in direction (pivoting) (Barrett et al 1972 and Beckett et al 1992) and also can happen due to contact such dominant kicking leg, fall on the knee or even a forceful blow to the knee. Stem Cell Research and Breast Cancer Essay Example For Students
Stem Cell Research and Breast Cancer Essay Breast cancer is a disturbing reality for many women in the United States today. One out of every eight women will acquire breast cancer in her life time. Forty-thousand women were expected to die just last year alone from breast cancer and over 276,000 women have been diagnosed with new cases of breast cancer since 2003. Breast cancer is the leading cancer detected among Caucasian and African American women in the United States today. Swift action must be taken to eradicate breast cancer in America and throughout the world now. Many promising options exist in the fight against breast cancer, yet none has the potential to have a greater effect then stem cell research. Today, the exact cause of breast cancer is still somewhat of a mystery. Therefore, prevention options are very limited. Women with a family history of breast cancer, or who are overweight, or smoke and use alcohol, or who have their first full term pregnancy after thirty, or who are never pregnant, or have either an early start or late end to menstruation are just a few of the women who may be exposed to breast cancer at some point throughout her life span. These women, and others who are also at risk, are encouraged to take precautionary measures to combat the onset of breast cancer. One option recommend is the use of pre- ventitive medications such as tamoxifen. This drug has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for women who are at high risk for obtaining breast cancer. Women also in danger are encouraged to practice early detection methods. This includes monthly self examinations, yearly doctor examinations, and yearly mamograms for women over the age of forty. Women who suffer the greatest risk of exposure to breast cancer are even asked to consider the aggressive measure of preventive surgery. A removal of breast tissue, called a mastectomy, is an option for those women at the highest risk levels to prevent breast cancer from beginning. Women who use any or all of these measures reduce their risk of breast cancer. Even so, these women are still in jeopardy of contracting breast cancer. The fact is, the specific cause of breast cancer is unknown. These treatment options do not guarantee that at risk women will not be burdened with this deadly disease. What is needed to eliminate completely this terrible killer is stem cell research and therapy. Stem cells are the basic building blocks of each and every aspect of our bodies. Stem cells occur naturally in everyone. These cells have the potential to create every cell our body needs. There are currently two types of stem cells that researchers have the capability to work with, embryonic and non-embryonic (otherwise know as adult stem cells). Currently research, although limited, is being conducted using both types of stem cells. Non-embryonic adult stem cell therapies are even being used to treat diseases today. This includes therapies to treat over seventy different diseases, though scientists have had little success using non-embryonic stem cells to treat breast cancer. Non-embryonic stem cell are only believed to be able to develop into the type of cells that they originated from, limiting their use. Scientists believe that embryonic stem cells have the potential to be manipulated into a wider variety of needed cells. Cells that can be used to treat breast cancer effectively and prevent it for good. The problem is that in August of 2001, our government banned the scientific development of new embryonic stem cell research. This ban left scientists with the use of the 60 existing embryonic stem cell lines. Scientists claim that there are not enough existing lines and that cells in these lines have been contaminated, according to an MSNBC.com article published May 8, 2005. .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .postImageUrl , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:hover , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:visited , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:active { border:0!important; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:active , .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u287f5a83f2659e8a12cd09b1d805e18c:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Gender Communication in the Wo Essay Research allowing the development of new embryonic stem cells must be implemented. With access to new lines, scientists can develop the necessary stem cells needed to fight breast cancer. These new lines will allow scientists and researchers to cultivate the needed stem cell which can directly attack the deadly cancer cells that are prevalent in breast cancer, as opposed to the mass treatment of cells, harmful and not, which our current treatments .
